If you’re looking for me, I’ll be in the powder room.
– Anneke, Tauranga
While in the process of building, Anneke and her husband came to me needing assistance with designing both the interior and exterior of their new home.
Upon consulting with them, I learned that they loved the look of old villas, but were unsure how to go about recreating this look and feel. It was my absolute pleasure to guide them through the creation of their new build with an old world charm.
The powder room (pictured above) is one of Anneke’s favourite rooms in her home. She wanted the space to look and feel luxurious, and together we created arguably the prettiest powder room ever.
The design of the room was inspired by its wallpaper. I had a sample on hand while I was consulting with Anneke, and instinctively knew it would appeal to her. With the look and feel of an exquisite embroidered work, the wallpaper adds texture and interest; using this as a starting point enabled me to put the powder room together with ease.
The pendant light (shown in the fine detailed, bronze mirror’s reflection) is a Feiss mini chandelier, which I carefully selected knowing it would add charm without overpowering the room. Its bronze and crystal details give the powder room a luxurious feeling, and complement the mirror (which I imported from the USA) beautifully. The custom made vanity really ties the room together.

Feiss Mini Chandelier
The only thing better than designing a beautiful room is knowing that my clients love their space even more than I do.
